Palmer Group has teamed up with a local client in their search for a Tax Manager . Our client has been in business for almost a century. In this role, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate filing of federal and state tax returns for all of our clients entities. This role is a highly visible position to leadership. What you will do:

• Lead the company’s taxation initiatives
• Prepare annual tax workpapers
• Reconcile and track State premium revenues to determine monthly tax liabilities
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of tax returns
• Unify GAAP and Statutory financial records
• Develop policies and tax accounting principles

What you need to be successful:

• Bachelor’s in Accounting
• 2+ years of related work experience
• Knowledge of SSAP 101 income tax accounting
• Understanding of ASC 740
• Clear, concise, and accurate communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all individuals
• Public accounting experience and insurance industry experience preferred
• CPA is encouraged
