Service and Support Engineer About SATEC: SATEC is a global leader in the research, development, and manufacturing of energy management solutions. SATEC's product line serves both energy utilities and energy consumers in various fields. Our devices span from basic power meters up to high-end advanced power quality meters. Our meters help enable utilities and consumers to take timely corrective action to conserve energy and prevent other electrical equipment failures. Service and Support Engineer Functions: The Service and Support Engineer will be working in the technical support and field service departments handling hardware and software support of the SATEC products. This position will report directly to the Technical Services Manager and is based out of SATEC Inc. office, located in Union, NJ. The primary function of this position is to work in resolving technical and field issues and assisting in the customer's experience. This will require working with our entire team to include but not limited to Engineering, Sales, Billing, Shipping, Field Service, Technical Support and Product Assembly teams to create and provide the best solutions. Key Responsibilities : Resolve technical and field service issues and assist in customer support with project needs. Act as a liaison between various SATEC departments to drive projects to completion. Provide technical assistance to maintain the reliability and performance of customer systems. Utilize test benches to simulate and demonstrate field meter issues. Collaborate with 3rd party vendors to support hardware integration. Use a ticketing system daily to document and communicate issues to leadership. Create, update, monitor, track, and close tickets for support requests. Oversee the creation of documentation and reviews for the knowledge base system. Ensure the quality and reliability of product verification and operation. Work with the energy management system, Expertpower, and configure assigned sites according to project needs. Assist customers with all site-specific questions. Teamwork and Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution. Foster a collaborative environment by sharing knowledge and best practices. Participate in team meetings and contribute to group problem-solving efforts. Support colleagues in achieving team goals and objectives. Required Qualifications : Minimum 5 years of experience in system troubleshooting, analysis and problem solving. Proven experience in a technical support or engineering role. Strong knowledge of hardware and software systems. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Strong understanding of Serial, Fiber and Ethernet communications Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Skills : Experience with specific software or hardware relevant to your industry. Strong understanding in Power transmission, distribution, and controls applications Experience with RTU, HMI, SCADA, and other data acquisition systems Electrical wiring knowledge for residential or 3-phase industrial wiring or controls wiring. Understanding of various communication protocols is a plus (Modbus, BACnet, etc.) Familiarity with remote support tools and techniques. Strong customer service orientation.
