The public entity account assistant position is a support role for the underwriting team on the ICRMT Program Administration. ICRMT is a multi-line program insuring Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, Law Enforcement Liability, Public Officials Liability, Property, Cyber Liability and Auto Liability/Auto Physical Damage. This team manages 550+ accounts and over $150 million in annual premium with account sizes ranging from $10,000 to over $1,000,000. The position offers an introduction to public entity pooling, alternative risk and self-insurance and requires interaction with various reinsurers and excess carriers.

Essential Functions:

  • Submissions for application entries for all insurance submissions.
  • Understand insurance coverages and guidelines and assist agents with daily questions.
  • Produce pro-rated premiums/coverages/endorsements.
  • Receive and process policy changes.
  • Assemble policies which include adding forms, dec pages and any ancillary documents.
  • Receive, track and input property appraisals.
  • Assist agents with quote/application portal.
  • Ensure conditions are met to bind and issue renewal policies.
  • Research to help update verbiage and exclusions on certain policies/apps.
  • Develop and maintain agency and client relationships.
  • Acts as a liaison with other internal departments.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Travel to events and conferences to network and build relationships about 25% of the time – all travel in Illinois.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or strong business acumen.
  • Intermediate level with Microsoft Products (Excel, Word, and Outlook.)
  • Strong data entry skills and attention to detail.
  • Some experience with Ventiv/NavRisk or Origami which we will be using by mid-year 2025.
  • Experience with commercial insurance a plus.
  • Comfortable working in a high volume, fast paced production environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Resourceful, organized, initiative-taker and ability to meet targeted due dates.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Insurance Producer’s license for Casualty and Fire would be preferred, but we will support you getting your license if you don’t have it already.

Salary Range:

$40,000 to $45,000 will be based on experience. Position is full-time, non-exempt.

Core Hours:

8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The current flex hours for this position will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday. We work 37.5 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as essential functions demand. This is a hybrid position - in the office on Wednesdays and two other days of the week of your choosing and remote the rest of the week.
