**Bennett Tool & Die LLC** , a one stop source for metal working solutions including stamping, fabrication, value-added assembly, tooling & machining, located in Kansas City, Kansas has an opportunity for a Powder Coat Painting Team Leader. This is a first shift position working Monday- Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. This is an hourly paid position that pays $20.00+ per hour, depending on experience. Applicant must have a working knowledge of the Powder Coat Painting process. Leader will be responsible for productivity and quality to the level that is maintained within department control. Leader will make recommendations for equipment upgrades, staffing adjustments and process modifications as deemed appropriate.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES**
* Direct, coordinate and assist with activities the employees are in involved in while preparing, painting, checking and kitting manufactured parts in the finishing department.
* Follows standardized procedures, principles and practices of powder coating application.
* Plan and create work schedules, assignments and production sequences to meet productions goals by means of work orders, production schedules and other records.
* Maintain daily, consistent communication with Direct Reports to complete production work schedules.
* Operates all coating equipment including guns, hoppers and booth collection systems familiarization with GEMA systems a plus.
* Effectively performs all duties of a powder coating sprayer, including but not limited to surface preparation, powder coating application, curing, and inspection for acceptable finished product.
* Ensures that all components are produced and coated efficiently and are consistent with company established quality and delivery goals.
* Loads and unloads parts in a mainline or custom booth setting.
* Working knowledge of the mechanics and basic repair of powder coating equipment.
* Proper cleaning and preventative maintenance on equipment, and 5S readiness of work area.
* May preform preventative and break fix maintenance on powder coating equipment.
* Inspect and monitor materials, products and equipment to expose any defects or malfunctions.
* Additional duties and responsibilities may be required, based upon business needs, at any time with or without notice.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
* High school level education or equivalent specialized training which may be obtained in vocational courses or on the job.
* Strong background in Powder Coating a must; > 3 years of experience and/or training preferred.
* Possesses high attention to detail while operating in a fast paced, high producing environment.
* Demonstrates ability to work independently with little daily supervision.
* Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
**PHYSCIAL DEMANDS**
* Ability to lift 50lbs with or without accommodations.
* Must be able to follow work practices and safety guidelines and regulations.
* Ability to stand on feet for 8 or 10 hour shifts.
