Job Description

In the Bilingual Senior Public Health Educator role, you will provide specialized health information and skills to diverse community and private sector groups. You will oversee initiatives aimed at improving community health outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cultural and social dynamics, experience in healthcare, social work, or community outreach, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and implement health education programs for diverse communities
• Provide specialized health information and skills training to various community and private sector groups
• Lead a team of Public Health Educators in developing and delivering outreach initiatives
• Foster community engagement by collaborating with local organizations and stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with city health policies and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Behavioral Science, Public Health, or a closely related field
• A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for required experience
• Two years of experience in Public Health, Education, or a closely related field
• Experience in healthcare, social work, or community outreach preferred
• Community Health Worker certification preferred
• Strong understanding of community cultural and social dynamics
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Bilingual in English and Spanish required
• Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License
• Must be up to date on vaccinations
