Salary: $34-$41 per hour negotiable

Position Summary

The Assistant Lead Campus Pastor/Minister serves as the right hand to the Lead Pastor at the Zion Greenbelt (ZGB) Campus. At the campus, they will implement the vision of Zion Church and the Lead Pastor as well as infuse Zions DNA and the Senior Pastors heart into all campus experiences and connection points. This role also champions the organization's mission and equips members to accomplish Gods Kingdom work within the local community. The Assistant Lead Campus Pastor/Minister should have a personal relationship with Christ, be a person of the highest integrity, active in prayer, have a hunger for Scripture, along with a burden to make disciples.

Essential Duties

  1. Provides support in preaching, pastoral care, leadership development, and overall spiritual health and growth of the campus.

  • Oversees and supports Sunday experiences, campus ministries, connections, discipleship, and operations.
  • Conducts hospital visitations, counseling, preaching, teaching, weddings, and funerals as needed.
  • Acts in the absence of the Lead Pastor receiving, executing, or escalating (when necessary) pastoral inquiries, leading Greenbelt campus meetings, and performing assigned pastoral duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor or a designated leader (i.e., Zion Churchs Senior Pastor or Chief Ministry Officer).

  1. Oversees and supports the administrative and organizational functions of the campus.

  • Works collaboratively with the Lead Pastor in strategic planning; including the evaluation and improvement of the campus performance, and developing key strategies, objectives, milestones, and goals.
  • Ensures operational readiness of the campus through oversight of staff, leaders, and laypersons who provide administrative, operational, and ministerial support.
  • Partners and coordinates with ministry leaders to share how each ministry contributes to meeting the vision of Zion Church, the Lead Pastor, and campus ministries.
  • Develops and provides clear, concise, and meaningful communication with all staff, leaders, team members, and laypersons to convey key information.

  1. Trains ministry team leaders on empowering volunteers and engaging members.

  • Provides training for staff, leaders, serving team members/volunteers, and laypersons.
  • Attends conferences, workshops, and training courses to strengthen knowledge and skills for ministry leadership and growth.
  • Leads and bolsters initiatives to recruit, train, and empower those to serve.
  • Supervises and provides regular feedback and formal evaluation for direct reports.
  • Champions leadership development strategies for paid staff and leaders.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills

  • A demonstrated leader with initiative and the ability to independently research and implement practical solutions based on spiritual principles.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills, confident, comfortable, and at ease communicating in front of a large group.
  • Ordained or Licensed as a Minister of the Gospel; if licensed must be willing to go through Zion's Ordination curriculum within the specified timeframe and pass all related coursework.
  • Flexibility to plan and work on multiple projects simultaneously while effectively prioritizing workloads.
  • Skilled and adept at leveraging technology in support of ministry.
  • Strategic planning and goal-setting expertise.
